Original Portion of Intro Paragraph: Critical thinking and citizenship link into a liberal arts education in many ways. Ungar’s article about the “7 Major Misperceptions About the Liberal Arts” help us in seeing those links. In fact, when it comes to Ungar’s ideas, I agree with mostly all of his misperceptions, especially his ideas of STEM. I do agree with his ideology about having a liberal education is important if one wants to have an advantage in life as well as lists off the advantages that one gets with having a liberal arts education. The main points I agree with him on would have to be how he views STEM as a portion of the liberal arts. STEM is the field of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Personally, I believe certain parts of STEM is within the liberal arts, those parts of STEM would be the sciences and mathematics portion.
