Carter, Michael. “Ways of Doing, Knowing, and Writing in the Disciplines.” College Composition and Communication , vol. 58, no. 3, Feb. 2007, pp. 385–418.

“Political Science .” Political Science | University of New England in Maine, Tangier and Online, 2019, www.une.edu/registrar/2018-2019-academic-catalog/undergraduate-catalog/political-science.

“what is the history and tradition of the field to be examined? What are the social and economical implications to be understood? What are the ethical and moral issues to be confronted?” (Boyer 110).

That learning outcome is to be informed of the historical dimensions of political issues, trends, and theories, which are all topics within Political Science (UNE Catalog).

One of Carter’s learning outcomes is “identify important research questions”, I believe this goes along well with UNE’s first learning outcome (Carter 397).

“The political science major emphasizes the development of skills in effective writing and speaking, as well as creative problem solving”, this shows that political science does offer a liberal learning (UNE Catalog).
